Halloween Wings

Yesterday, Hubby & Thing One painted the wings for her Halloween mutant bird-girl costume.  First, they had to do some research so that T1 could be very, very clear with Hubby about how they needed to look because Hubby was really afraid of their getting done and her complaining that they were wrong.  The main problem with doing the research is that there really aren't any "official" pictures of this character and her wings.  Yes, there are pictures on book covers, but the pictures aren't faithful to the actual descriptions IN the books.  Feh.  After much discussion and hashing over the various representations we could find online, this is what they came up with:



I think we're all pretty well agreed that the first side pictured looks better than the other side, so the not-as-good side will probably be the side that doesn't show as much.  Now, to find a t-shirt we can make two small holes in so that we can thread the elastic straps into her shirt so that it looks like the wings are growing out of her shoulders....
