Why Be Normal?

The Stupor Bowl Super Bowl is this Sunday.  In light of that, did you know....

  • The only day of the year more food is consumed in the U.S. is Thanksgiving.
  • If you lined up all the potato chips consumed in America on Super Bowl Sunday, they'd reach all the way to the moon and half of the way back.
  • 6% of Americans call in sick the day after Super Bowl Sunday.
  • Pizza chains bring in extra supplies and extra workers b/c they do such high sales & deliveries on Super Bowl Sunday.  (The two other huge days are Halloween and the day before Thanksgiving.)
  • 20% of 7-11's sales the day after Super Bowl Sunday are antacids (see above)
  • At least $55,000,000 is spent on food for Super Bowl parties each year in America.
  • There are more alcohol-related car accidents on Super Bowl Sunday in America than on any other day of the year.

So, in light of all this information, I ask you, "If this is normal, then why be normal?"

[Statistics gleaned from a number of online sources.  Just do a Google search on "Super Bowl statistics".]
