Yes, I got behind in my blogging, and once I got behind, I got overwhelmed every time I thought of getting caught up. With this in mind, I came up with a solution: Do a super-lame "catching up" post, and just move on. So, here goes:
MOTHER'S DAY: As I've probably posted before, I'm always conflicted about six different ways when it comes to Mother's Day, but it almost always turns out well. This year was no exception. Dinner with my parents & sister, cards from Hubby, each of the kids AND the dog, pretty Della Q bag from Hubby and hippie bracelet from the girls, Starbucks card from my MIL and African violets from my parents. Pictures are on Flickr.
DYE CLASS: Going well. I'm still posting the pictures on Flickr, but I haven't gotten around to posting here. This week is the last one till the fall. I sure hope I can finish the stuff I need to do!
KID STUFF: We were either brave or stupid (or both!) and hosted a sleepover party for the middle school girls from our area of the church. Wow. Lots of energy. Lots of bubblegum-pop music. Lots of nail polish. Lots of make-up and doing of hair. Lots of "I LOVE THIS SONG!" They're good kids, though, and it went well. (We, however, are not completely stupid; we confiscated cell phones on arrival and took the laptops out of the living room.) Once again, pictures on Flickr.
ILLNESS: I spent a couple of days as sick as a dog. I had a migraine after the sleepover party, then last Monday I woke up at 4:30 am to puke and proceeded to puke about a dozen times that morning. By the late afternoon, I had a fever. Spent Tuesday in bed. My FAHBULOUS Hubby stayed home from work both Monday and Tuesday to take care of me & the kids. SO grateful! Wednesday, I picked up carpool duties again, but was still pretty wobbly.
SUMMER: This is the last full week of school. Next week, they only go Tuesday - Thursday. EEEEEK! I'm so ready not to have to get up at 6:00 every morning, but sabbattical, which seemed sooo far off is suddenly only days away. YIKES!
KNITTING: Yes, of course I'm still knitting. At the moment, it's mostly market bags and dishcloths. I'm helping my dear friend Merry photograph her stash so she can sell off some of it, and every time she comes over, she foists some yarn off on me (twist my arm!). Last time, she left me with a dozen cones of dishcloth cotton. She can't knit w/cotton right now b/c her hands are messed up, so she asked me to knit a couple of bags for her. No problem!
SPINNING: More "off" than "on" right now, but I did finish prepping the purple roving that I almost ruined, and I've started spinning it up.
CHEAPSKATE REMODEL: Hubby did finish the new cabinets, and I filled them. It's great to have all the dishes and stuff in one place, all behind cupboard doors, etc. Pictures eventually. The kitchen/laundry room look SO different now!
THE BOOK: Soon, people, soon. Both the paperback & limited-edition hardback are with their respective printers, and we're awaiting a ship date. It will be out soon. Soon, as in, it will be available at TNNA 6/11 - 6/13. It will also be available at Sock Summit. Any vendors wanna take it to Black Sheep?
OK, onward and upward!
