Dye Class

I haven't posted any pictures from my dye class in a long time, so here are a few.  I still dye yarn sometimes, but my new dye-related love is silk painting.  My work is nothing compared to some of the other ladies' (helps that they can actually draw, LOL), but I'm learning, having loads of fun, and have been (mostly) pleased with the results.

Here are a few pictures from yesterday's class:

This one is steamed, rinsed, and done.  I brought it home to heat-set it in the dryer because I planned to donate it for a door prize for our church Women's Day event tonight.  I'm really bummed at how much dye came out when I rinsed it.  I suspect that either my dryer isn't hot enough for the heat-setting or I didn't leave it in long enough.  I still like it, but I would have been much happier with it if it had retained more of the color.  Oh, well.
